Kenmore Dishwasher
« on: September 13, 2008, 04:15:31 PM »
I'm stumped.  I have a dishwasher that the CLEAN light flashes 7 times and then pauses and repeats the 7 flashes, etc.  It won't fill but it will drain.  There is voltage at the fill valve so I chained the valve but it still won't fill or run.

Also... does anyone have a copy of the flashing light codes?

All help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Don.

Hi,

Your Kenmore dishwasher was manufactured by Whirlpool.

What did you end up doing to it?

I cleared the false error by pressing... heated dry - normal - heated dry - normal and then cancel.

I thought that my problem was solved but I was wrong.  I did get rid of the flashing CLEAN light but the dishwasher still won't fill.  I put in a new valve and then tried the original valve but it still won't fill.  Should I replace the PCB?

If you have voltage to the water valve it should fill unless there is no water to the dishwasher or the valve is bad.

Did you turn the water back on after you replaced the valve.

The water is on.  I even ran the line into a pan just to make sure that the line wasn't kinked.  I also checked the line from the valve outlet to the dishwasher.  Is the valve low voltage?  I can't find a schematic anywhere.

What do you have for voltage at the water valve?

I can't find a schematic for this model either, sorry.

The voltage was around 24V.  The wires are very light so I assumed that the solenoid is low voltage.  Thanks for all the help.

There is also a constant clicking in the door since the unit was new so I'm thinking that the PCB has always had a fault in it.  The clicking sounds like the soap dispenser relay is always trying to open.

Maybe someone else can dig up a schematic.

Nice find RegUS_PatOff

I was wondering how in the world you found that with the sears number.

After looking up the sears model number on the sears site I see sears list the tech sheet for sale.

Part number: 8572216  Tech sheet  $10.19

I was then able to cross that part number over to the whirlpool tech sheet that you listed.

I learned something new tonight. :)

Thanks!
