frigidaire front load washer

Help....my washer wont work in the spin cycle, hence the collection of water in the drum.  Also had smelled some smoke near front top of washer.  Any help appreciated.

What is the model number of your machine?

Remove the front toe panel and take a look at the control board on the bottom right corner.

Make sure you disconnect the power first. You will also have to remove the board from the washer to get a good look at it.
If you could smell smoke you maybe able to see parts burnt up on the board.

Let us know what you find.

thank you for your reply.  I took off the part (light blue in colour that had some copper coils).  It looks fine, no burnt spots or smell of smoke.

Let's start from scratch. Is the water draining out? No drain=No spin. Take off the lower front panel by removing the two screws at the bottom and verify that the drain pump is getting voltage when it is set for a spin cycle. Voltage + no drain = debris in impeller or bad pump. Let us know what you find. I think the smoke is a red herring. Does the drum tumble at all?

good news!  I took apart the little motor on the front ride side (attached to the rubber drain) and found a piece of the old bearing in it that was blocking the motor...all working fine!  Tks for all your help and my apologies for the delay.....
