Dryer timer does not advance

I guessing that it is a sticky timer,I was just wondering if there is anything else that could possibly be checked?  The timer will not advance during the auto-sense dry.  Let me know what you think.

Hi Ryan,

If the timer works fine in the timed cycle, but gives you problems in just the auto-sense cycle then the first thing I would do is check the dryer vent.

Make sure the dryer vent behind the dryer is open and free of lint.
Also remove the back of the dryer and the lint chute assembly. Be sure to clean all the lint out of the chute assembly.

One other thing you can do is access the control panel and beside the timer is a small board. Yank it out and clean the corrosion off on the contacts. Re-insert that card and try a load. That board powers up the timer motor whenever it senses no more moisture in the drum. The clothes rub up against sensors mounted on the back wall of the dryer and cause resistance. When no more resistance is there the timer will move on over to the end.
