Whirlpool oven "bake" setting doesn't light up.

Hi,

My whirlpool "imperial series" oven isn't working properly. The broil setting works fine (sparks and lights up immediately), but the bake setting won't light up. It sparks a few times, makes a sound like the gas is going, but never lights up and after a few sparks it shuts off (quites trying), althought the time keeps counting down from 10 min.

I can't find the model number on my stove; Whirlpool says that its in the storage drawer, but there is no sticker or plate in that drawer.

Please help.

The model is not IN the drawer, but on the front of the oven frame once you open the door. Usually on the left side.

ok, the model # is SF462LXSS 0, it was inside the oven door.

Jw, it might help to look at the thing first...save you a lot of writing.

 Flame switches are obsolete and not used except on commercial applications.

Jaws if you can locate this here fancy smancy board you may want to carefully clean the connections real good. Look for corrosion on the terminals. With any luck it might just be a loose or faulty connection.
