You must not run this machine with the panel removed. There will be no airflow and things will spiral downhill real fast :)

Coil kit (gas valve) - 2 coils icon
Check out this set of coils at appliance parts pros online. Coil kit (gas valve) - 2 coils - This popular, newer style coil kit fits most dryers with two-coil gas valve. Brands include Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, Admiral, Crosley, Frigidaire, Estate, Amana, Kitchen Aid, GE, Hotpoint, Roper, White Westinghouse, Sears and others. The price is right too under 20 bucks I would go for it.
May the hinges of our friendship

About the icons: The beer is tip link, if a tech saves ya some money buy em a 6 pack. The small green square=personal message. The green dot is a link to my web page on appliance repair and other general BS I love to post. The letter sends me email.

It's a shame I can't get those parts shipped to Canada. So I tried calling Sears  :tickedoff: $45 for one valve & $49 for the other. Looked up a couple mom & pop service center's & found them for $36 for the pair of them (same kit). Thanks for all the help guys  O0

Okay. Is there a plan "B"??? installed new coils. No difference. Is there a way to test them to see if they're defective?

One thing I've seen is gas BBQ's getting plugged up by spider nest's. So I'm wondering if that's a possibility, if I took out the plug at the end of the gas pipe under the coils, would I see straight through to the inlet?? The dryer has sat for a few years unplugged

Spiders can't get in...there's a mesh screen in the inlet side. I realize your situation here, but taking plugs out is not going to help.

Your gas valve is likely bad. The coils were a good start and usually a cheap fix, but it has become apparent that the valve has issues, most likely bad springs in the plunger & diaphragm assembly. Any time something useful sits idle for long periods, atrophy will occur. It is the same with humans, only harder to fix :)

If your mom and pop outfit can't get you the 306176 valve, I can. Most of the others don't have the time to do the customs forms, etc associated with a simple transaction. You can read up on my policies here.

How hard is it to remove the gas valve?

Dude, what part of the 1994-1997 Maytag Dryers Manual did you not understand?  :)

Gawd, I love you guys, eh!

You did not mention if you were on LP gas or Natural, but if it is LP, be sure to save the valve cap and burner orifice from the old valve so you don't have to invest in a conversion kit. The valve comes set for Natural gas.

The part where it won't load past page 1. I've tried numerous times, I get something like 650KB's & then it just stops. I've tried other PDF files & have had no problems. So I don't know what the problem is since you guys can get it to load completely.
