Buying a new refrigerator - looking at LG French door model ?

I am looking at purchasing an LG french door type refrigerator( w/o door water and ice dispenser) for about $ 1500 . The shelving system and track on the freezer seems more well thought out the the Amana , Kenmore etc ( ok know it is subjective ) . How do the LG appliances compare in reliability / parts / repair cost / DIY repair potential  compare to the other major brands ?   -Thanks

I posted a reply to your other post, but wanted to add a little more information here about the LG refrigerators.

I have had to replace a lot of LG ice makers this year. Water would get into the head of the ice maker and freeze.
Also a few control board, but not many.

I would say LG has a good line of products.

Being the LG refrigerator your looking at is around $1500 you may want to see what a extended warranty will cost you.
