I spent the afternoon listening to the rain come down and sitting in my boat watching my first attempt at a float switch flop. I revamped my float switch entirely. Instead of having 2 roofing nails, I decided to go with two strips of bare romex copper ground wire 2 inchs apart on top of the inverted basket. I upped the ante by using foil tape instead of tin foil to wrap around my cork. Instead of weighting down the float switch I attached it to the floor with a piece of thin sheet metal and screws. Result? I have the mutha of all homemade float switches.Stay tuned.
