Hole in the side of the compressor - coffee can window unit

This has been a weird week. My buddy Larry and me have been working on a window unit that has a hole in the compressor. Right in the side of it is a spot weld that went awry. we tryed braising it to no avail. Anybody know a trick? Will epoxy putty hold up? Or should we just tell the dude to go shoping for another unit?

How many six-packs did it take for you to realize that epoxy won't fix a hole in a compressor?   ;D

The bottom of a beer can works great for mixing that epoxy together. :)

Nope...neither will JBWeld.

With an oily environment such as a compressor, epoxy does not stand a chance of sticking.

I was thinking about getting thin piece of metal from a beer can and epoxy that to the side of the compressor and get a great big c clamp and clamping that epoxy beer can to the side of the compressor. Whudda yall thank?
