Kenmore 80 series dryer just quit

Replaced the motor and all wheel bearings about 2 months ago. It worked fine until the other day when it made some squeaking noise and just stopped. Well I took motor back and swapped for new one. Still doesn't work. Push the start button and the timer will count down only if you hold the start button down. Motor does not start, either does the heating element. Bypassed the heating element fuse link and still no dice. Maybe a bad dryer mode/timer switch?? New switch is $90 so want to be certain before replacing it. Thanks for any help.

Check for 240 volts at the back of the dryer where the cord attaches. Sounds like voltage issues from here.

Repair-Man: Tested voltages at the outlet and where the cord attaches to the dryer. L&R are 240v L/CTR 120. All voltages are good.

JW: Bypassed the block as stated in first post to no avail. Spoke to  a local dist. where I bought the motor and they suggested  to bypass the fuse block for a brief check, did so to no avail.

All I can add to your dryer situation is this:

It only took 2 months to have a 2nd motor failure. Is this telling you that you have a venting problem? Especially since the thermal fuse blew. I would be more worried about a potential fire hazard than anything else at this point, IMHO.

That fuse is mounted on the blower housing. Right next to the filter. You must remove the filter housing and wash all the lint out of it.Or this fuse will keep blowing.
