ge new basic dryer push start switch

Hi I have a dryer when u push the start switch it turns on but if you let the switch go it turns off, ?  I replaced the switch and it does the same thing ?
 
Is it the timer ? has anybody seen this before   ,       gtdp280gd0ww

Check the motor. It might have lint build up on the centrifugal switch. Or one of the springs came off.

  More likely the belt switch. Jump it out as a test to see if that is the problem. Broken springs on the motors centrifugal mechanism would prevent the switch from returning to start position and motor would not start. It is possible that it is a faulty motor start switch contact but much more likely, it's the belt switch.

Could be switch . But I usually find it to be the motor

On GE dryer. Newer model, it's likely the belt switch

Or the metal arm that pushes the switch.
