Wow, Garmin 7 inch GPS!
« on: August 10, 2014, 09:58:17 PM »
One tool I could not live without in my GPS. It's a Garmin 5 inch that is several years old now.

Looking to see what's new for GPS's I see Garmin now makes a 7 inch model, wow 7 inches!

Garmin nüvi 2757LM 7-Inch Portable Vehicle GPS with Lifetime Maps

The only thing I regret in purchasing my last Garmin is that I did not spend the extra $50 and get the model just like mine but with the Lifetime Maps.

My thinking at the time was I did not need to update the maps as roads don't change all the much where I live and I'm familiar with the area anyway. What I did not think of though is roads change in other parts of the country and when on vacation I'm in a area that I'm not familiar with so updated maps would be nice. :)

Was thinking of spending the $89.99 to update the maps on my current Garmin, but think I may just get a bigger one now.

What model GPS is everyone else using now days?

I have tried using my phone, but find it much harder to see well i'm driving.
The anti glare screen on my Garmin is much nicer to view well driving.

I had a Magellan GPS before I got my first Android phone. Now I only use Google Maps. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 worth a 5" HD screen. As long as I have a signal, all is good.

However, if I had to pick a GPS it would have to be a Garmin product.  They do a better job with the updates than Magellan in my opinion.

Looked for the box for my GPS so I could see what model it was as I was thinking of purchasing a new one and to my surprise it was a model 50LM, Lifetime Maps!

Goes to show how good my memory is. Did not recall purchasing a Garmin LM model last time, lol...

Just updated my 2012 maps to Garmins latest ones dated 2015! Guess I can drive into the future now. :D
