whirlpool bottom freezer leaking water

2 yrs 2 mths old mdl gb2fhdxwq02. refrig.  Repairman removed all ice buildup. Solved leak problem. States he gets 2/3 calls a week for same problem. No tech svc bulletin from Whirlpool for fix on this common problem. Apparently only way to keep from having future problem is to defrost freezer annually.
