magnetic lid switch

I accidently broke the lid switch under neath the washer, so I just wired the two wires together. i tested it and it spinned good. now it doesnot spinn at all???? I have never seen a lid switch like this b 4, can u just bypass this by wireing the 2 wires together???   tks    JPG

I would think looks like a form of mercury switch. What happens when you set the timer to spin now?

It looks like u just can't wire around the lid switch, mayb the motor board needs to sense a certain resistance. i wired in a new lid switch and it worked good. U learn something new everyday....  tks   JPF

or the Board may have to sense the opening & closing of the Switch (before the next load) or it determines a Faliure.
