Does humid air in garage prevents dryer from drying???

  My dryer is located in the garage and is vented directly to the outside.  However, it pulls air in from the garage.  My exhaust vent is clean and flowing freely.  I think that the dryer is having a hard time drying because the air it is heating is humid from the garage.  The garage is enclosed, but air tight, so whatever the humidity is outside, it is close to the same in the garage.  Am I on the right track with my conclusion?

I would think that warmer air from the outside would get the clothes dryer faster. You know how hot a car gets when it is sitting in the sun? I would put te dryer outside and just run it on fluff in july here in south Alabama.

It can be raining in your garage and it would make no difference with the dryer.

The heater will instantly take care of the humidity factor as the moisture-laden air passes thru it. Instantly.

The problem with your air-tight garage is that a dryer needs 500 CFM of fresh air to operate. Better crack open a window or door someplace when using the machine.

check the temperature out the back of the dryer vent (disconnected).

it should cycle somewhere between about 135F & 160F
