Maytag MAH6700 will not drain
« on: July 11, 2014, 09:30:55 PM »
I have a Maytag MAH6700 that will drain.  I took drain off and cleaned.  Replaced but still did not work.  I checked voltage to pump, it has power.  I tested the ohm while pump was off......it regestered 20 ohms.  Any suggestions.  When I run a cycle, the water loads but when it reachs the draining stage......washer just sits until it errors out.  Shows nd???  thanks in advance

Did you remove the pump and check for UFO's in it .This model washer is notorious for items getting stuck in the pump or grinding down the pump impellers .Another scenario is change goes thought the pump then lodges in the drain hose sideways effectively sealing off the hose .

I think I got it.....Just cleaned all the grit out of the pump.  Put on spin only and not waiting long enough for pump to come on the 1st try.  Pump just ran on spin only on 2nd attempt and waiting long enough.  Crossing my fingers and running a full cylce now.

Well,  I still have a problem.  Machine cycles fine until final drain and spin cycle.  It will stop and error out with the nd code. Any suggestions?

Using the quick wash (36 min cycle) the machine stopped at 19 mins left and showed Sd error.  Pump seems to be working.

remove hose to pump from washer, open door of washer ,pour water into washer. Does it run out ? If it does then your pump is bad.

When I take the hose off pump, water does run out the flap? Is this what you are referring too?

Check the pressure switch hose for blockage too

I could not get the spin cycle to finish.....errored out with nd.  I disconnected the drain hose from house drain( which is 3-4 feet above the pump due to it being in a basement). Put the drain hose a bucket and tried spin cycle and it completed okay.....there was water in machine from error ing out earlier wash with error code sd.  Would the pressure hose clogged cause this scenario?

Washer has water in it from me putting on a wash but it will not drain when its time for that part of the cycle.  So, I turn machine off, turn it back on and place on spin cycle only.  After a minute, the machine starts draining.  I can feel the pump running and hose moving while the water level lowers below tub.  But If I turn back on a normal wash.....it stops because it won't drain.  I have been instructed to check hose to pressure switch.  Can you remove hose from switch and blow in it to check for a blockage?  Obviously, I have no clue what I am doing. I can change the pump if thats the problem.  Just confusing because the pump does pump, just not during a wash cycle.  Thanks in advance.
