Sorry to burst your balloon, but I have to do the pull the back and reinsert the ribbon cables every 6 months or so. Cleaned, checked, inspected, just a poor design.
Try adding something into the ribbon connector to *improve* the quality/tightness of the ribbon connection to the PCB (cut a section of a matchbook,for example)
Verify which section of the ribbon connector---makes connection (do not add it there)
Your situation is *not* typical.
99.99% of customers/owners that needed the ribbon connector removed/re-installed to improve/resume surface burner control function---never had an issue again.
Like it or not---you're one of the .01%
Example: If you had Firestone/Bridgestone tires on your vehicle that were recalled due to a manufacturing"defect"---don't go assuming that your new/improved tires won't *ever* go "pop" on the highway. Though the odds are very low---it *could* still happen/occur.
