The PASS or FAIL tool topic...

(1/4) > >>

AJ:
There seems to be a bigger selection of tools to pick from today then ever before. But you never know what tools are good and what ones are junk until you buy it and try it.

Iím starting this topic so we can rate our tool purchases with a PASS or FAIL grade.

Please keep these things in mind.

1. Post about the tool after you have had a chance to use it for awhile. Posting about a tool you just purchase is not very helpful.

2. If possible post the manufactures product number and/or a photo of the tool.

3. Only post a link to the manufactures website page for that tool and not a link to eBay, Amazon, Harbor Freight, etc...

Example of acceptable link: Channellock 804 Adjustable Wrench.

4. This is not the place to rejoice about low prices or what a great deal you got on a tool. This topic is to help fellow tool junkies identify quality tools.

Note: Tools do not have to be related to appliance repair.

I'll start...

Snap-on Soft Grip Ratcheting Stubby Screwdriver

A big PASS!

It must be over ten years old now. It looks like heck (will add photo later) but it still works like a new one.
I have the stubby shaft that come with it and a longer shaft I can replace the shorter one with. I mostly use it with the longer shaft.

Sensible TSE-1 spring expander tool
Fail ...a waste of money as far as I'm concerned.Have had this tool over a year ,have tried it 2 or 3 times but it's a pain in the butt to use .Much easier to do it install the boot spring the old fashioned way .Good idea bad design and cheaply made
