GE side by side refrigerator

I have a GE TFX20JR side by side. The problem is when its started from being unpluged for a while, It works fine but as time goes on (I mean ofter it runs for 3 weeks or so) it becomes warmer. It it freezing up? Does it have a defrost times bad?...thanks in advance

Is there frost in the freezer section over the back panel?

Yes, down the back of the freezer ....

Replace the defrost heater and terminator assembly. You'll have to thaw out all the frost first.

Not all of those heater/thermostat assemblys are the same. They may look the same but they have different brackets and lengths. You must have your model number.
These heater assemblys can get expensive I would say 75 bucks at least.
