whirlpool washer stops after it agitates.....

I REALLY NEED SOME HELP WITH THIS.. IN ANY GIVEN CYCLE, IT WILL AGITATE AS LONG AS IT SHOULD AND THEN JUST STOP. WE HAVE ALREADY RIGGED THE LID SWITCH BEFORE, SO IT'S NOT THAT, I DON'T THINK. I HAVE MY WASHER TAKEN APART AND CLEANED UP THOUGH! LOL MAN IT WAS DIRTY!
ALSO I TOOK THE DRAIN HOSE OUTTA THE WALL AND PUT INTO A BUCKET AND SOME WATER CAME OUT OF IT, BUT THERE IS STILL SOME WATER IN THE OUTER BASIN? (NOT IN THE BASIN DIRECTLY WHERE YOU PUT YOUR CLOTHES IN) ANY IDEAS?

Other than "rigged", could you detail what you did to circumvent the lid switch?  It sounds an awful lot like an interrupted lid circuit somewhere.

Other likely trouble spots would be at the motor or a bad timer. Fill in the missing details and we'll take it from there.

If you were having problems with the Lid Switch I would suggest that you replace it.

we just clamped the switch so that it's always "switched", with a little clip that would hold a bunch of papers together. then we zip-tied it up through the hole that the part of the lid that would hit the switch, so that it would notbounce around while the washer was spinning. it stays clamped, and if it ever comes unclamped it's easy to clamp it up again. thank you so much!

Gotcha! Actually, you need to go ahead and replace that lid switch assembly. It has given up the ghost.
