Hi! Thank you for your last response on how to test motor and hall sensor. The instructions were very clear and true to life.
So motor and hall sensor appear to be OK. Another problem was a bad diode bridge. I replaced it and now the washer is up and running, finishes all cycles, just as a new washer.
However, the IPM heat sink seems to be hot during a cycle. I can't put my fingers on it for more than 1 second. Is it OK? This washer is made in 2003. I compared the temperature of the same thing in a 2009 LG washer: i could hold my fingers there (both washers were running the same cycle, the same amount of time).
With additional heat sink area help, or a small fan (like inside computer) blowing straight onto it?
Also, I have another question. I have got a LG WM2101HW washer. It turns on, dials through the cycles (lights change accordingly). But all other buttons (including run, temp, soil level ...) are unresponsive. Also, the washer won't go into a test mode. Instead it turns on regularly.
