What's on your tool wish list?
« on: April 29, 2014, 10:47:17 AM »
Maybe it's a new multimeter, tool bag, power tool or some hand tool.

If there is enough interest in a tool on your wish list I may look at purchasing one myself to use, review or even raffle off or giveaway.

I'm trying to get my hands on a

Hilmor QCND 1/4" + 5/16" Quick Change Magnetic Nut Driver .As I get older I am trying to reduce the weight of tools in my bag and think this would be a great addition because most nuts are either 1/4 or 5/16 .The problem is it's not available in Canada .I have a amazon.com account but for some reason they won't ship this product to Canada .Looking to find someone in the states who will buy it for me and ship it to me .I would prepay the costs involved into their paypal account .

Finally got it shipped to you. Looks like a fine tool.
Got to say it was very tempting to bust open the blister pack so I could try it out, but I held back, lol...

Let me know when you get it and how you like it.

Will do  AJ .....my birthdays coming up Monday and I'm going to treat myself to a Veto Pro pac LC  tool bag . Been at this game a long time (since I was 22 ) and I'm turning 62 ! I figured I'd go out in style ...figure I'm going to work another three years and then retire so for once in my career I'd like a classy tool carrier .If I have no clue how to fix an appliance at least I'll look like I do .I like the fact that this new tool bag will have a spot for everything ,including meters and my drill .This way it will help me to remember not to leave tools at the customers home .I will rate the bag once it arrives .

I have the veto... great bag but it is very heavy for the daily stuff. The down fall for the veto is the zippers. The dryer lint does a number on the zippers. Got to stay on top of keeping it clean.

I'd rather have a bit heavier bag then 2 or 3 trips to the truck

My wishlist right now:

The 240VAC outlet testers, by Whirlpool, I think.

@ $120, it may be awhile.

Does it do something different then a multimeter?

It would show an intermittent/flakey neutral.

That and it's a tool.

That I don't own yet.

And it has lights.

That light up.

Should I keep going?

for as many times as I've found myself sticking meter leads in a 240v outlet (so they can't say it's the cord) and then giving my customer a crash course on basic electricity, how a meter works, what the heck I actually mean by "you have a leg out", and why this means I can't make your dryer work and you need to contact an electrician... I think it might actually save some time to be able to throw one of these in an outlet and point to it saying, "It's whirlpools outlet tester.. it says yours is bad and won't run your dryer"  might cut down on my teaching hours  O0

that said, that price is a rough sell :(
