New to this forum.
Noticed that some food in freezer became soft or starting to melt. I know this unit has 2 separate cooling systems. Initially had temperatures set to recommended temps. Unplugged unit and digital readout temps read much higher 42 freezer and 54 fridge. After a few hours temps gradually decreased to currently set recommended temps and remained that way overnight. This morning still soft food and no new ice cubes. Manually released ice cubes from tray and they were frozen. Any guidance would be helpful for DIYguy. :thanks:

I think you push and hold the energy saver and lighting. For about 10 seconds then read the fault code

Have Energy Saver, do not have a lighting button

For self diag, hold powerfreeze and cool until display blinks then release. If no error codes, I would suspect cooling capacity has diminished, as your freezer evap is last in line for cooling.  O0

Got fully illuminated 88 88. Assuming that is because I unplugged it to try to reset the "computer". What should I look at next. Thanks

Now freezer temp is flashing the set temp, thoughts. In fridge section there is an area on lowest shelf level that is freezing bags of veggies. not sure if this is related or unrelated thanks for your help

My strong opinion is that you have a sealed system issue, losing charge. As I stated, the freezer will be the first to lose cooling capacity. Flashing set point is caused by high temp. Freezing in the bottom of the fresh food would also be a factor of a low charge, as pressures are dropping, the upper evap is getting colder than ever before. Reply in a week. Your fresh food cooling will have disappeared.

Thanks for your technical assistance. I will schedule service appt through Samsung in morning.  Should still be covered under the 5 year warranty of sealed system components (3 1/2 years old now)

Parts and Labor. He ordered a new compressor today. Not sure if the $75 initial service call visit will be included. Thanks

Purchased refrigerator from Se@rz, had their serviceman come out to fix.  As you mentioned the fridge temp slowly began to rise.  It barely made it through Easter brunch.  In the end new compressor, checked for leaks and $0 spent, nada, all warranty. Thanks again
