Samsung DMR78 series service mode
« on: April 07, 2014, 07:29:41 PM »
Lets just say we are not happy with this dishwasher.  Never have been happy with this NOT so cheap POS that Samsung calls a dishwasher.  When I try to enter the maintenance service mode by pressing all three buttons at the same time, it does not work.  I get a code that is not listed as one of the information codes in the troubleshooting section.  The symbol looks like an L but with center - attached and a 1.  I have tried it numerous times but I get the same code?  Any ideas would be great.   Thanks,  Kevin

Woah woah, lets backup a bit. I would like to see a pic of the display you describe if at all possible. Do not get so hung up on the service  inspection mode, as I rarely use it. What is the issue you are having?  :thanks:

This is the second time I have had open this machine up because of the 9E code low water level.  Cleaned out and checked the low water switch. checked inside the container where float is located.  Also checked the little flow paddle or wheel where the water comes into the system.  Put all back together and it works fine.  I have read a lot of people have problems with little parts getting down into the system and making a grinding noise.  The 9E code is gone now but I still have the grinding noise when it starts to drain during the cycles.  How do I fix that?  Do I have go in from inside or turn the machine upside down to remove the pumps or drains to remove the broken parts causing all of the noise?

Thanks,
Kevin
P.S.  Forgot to tell you...the 1st time it made all of this noise we had the Samsung repair fix it because it was still under the warranty.

Check your upper rack adjusters for missing mounting tabs. Yes, usually have to pull the drain pump to remove debris. Are your adjusters all very or do they have dark bluehandles?

one side they all missing. the other side two are missing with another one cracked. The drain pump comes off from the bottom side? The adjusters are grey.  Is there some sort of fix for those or new improved adjusters that wouldn't break off and do this all over again?

Today I found my problem in the drain hose that connects to the drain pump.  No problems with drain pump itself.  Removed the broken parts and it works fine now. Also removed the other parts that have not broken off yet.  Here are pictures if someone else needs them.  It took all of about 1 hr from start to finish with dishwasher.  Will never buy another Samsung dishwasher.  Thanks for the help Appliance Junk domain.
