The prefix for that model indicates that it was built by monarch range company...Hopefully this helps

Forgive my ignorance but are you referring to the prefix of the stove or are you talking about the thermostat control?  I was curious if I can connect the wires from the old t-stat in the same manner on the new t-stat recommended in an earlier post which I ordered?  Knowing it was built by Monarch Range Co., can I assume I should be able to find wiring diagrams?

Check the white wire,it probably goes to the safety valve ( and a wire between the flame switch and valve as well)   I don't think Monarch is still around so wiring diagram would be hard to find.  Try a meter and test the old contacts. Seems like 4 would be L1, 5 would be common, 2 indicator light.( on new Harper Wyman tstat)  When you stated the"thermostat broke" what broke? no heat, too hot, low heat?

Thank you for the explanation.  What actually broke is the thermocouple (forgive me if this is the wrong terminology) that is inside the oven.  This would be the rod that registers the temperature inside the oven.  See the attached picture.

I would trace wires, if using the Harper Wyman thermostat I told you about you should be able to wire it in using the new diagram. Basic electricity stuff. If in doubt draw a diagram of oven circuit and post a photo of it. I do install these a lot in obsolete machines.

Thank you.  I will probably be back in touch after I receive my new thermostat probably next week.  I did order the one you suggested.

To give you an update, the stove has been working just great.  I put a thermometer in it to validate the temp and it has been doing that very well.

I need a little more advice.  Occasionally we smell gas.  Now this is an old stove and I did not change any of the lines.  What would be your advice to try locating the apparent leak?

One more thing, my pilot light goes out occasionally as well or sometimes the flame will come to the burner but not light the burner.  Suggestions?
