I don't know what brand that one is, but the one I got that looks like that is a joke, not much light output at all. I much prefer my Streamlight Stylus Pro penlight.

Does it expand and have a magnetic base?

I'm not so sure what light your talking about now or what you mean by expand. The one I have that looks like the one in the photo you attached is flexible and has a magnetic base. My Stylus Pro does not.

Stylus Pro is where my question was directed. I need something that will firmly stay in one place while shining light where I need it while I work with both my hands. That's why the flexible head and magnetic base appeal to me. Just remembered there's a store nearby that has one like my pic above but much better quality.  Will report back with more info once iI've used it.

Ok, I would not consider the one I got of any quality. Also got it from a local store.
Cheap lights just don't do it for me and cheap lights is often what you find on the counter of hardware and automotive parts stores.

I have learned a lot about lights over the years from my friends at CPF.

When I say, "the one I got" in the post above it's directed towards the one you originally posted about, not my Stylus Pro. :D

Here is another light I use a lot. It does not have a magnetic base, but it still works fine for hand free use for me.
