NOT Enough Water
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:01:19 PM »
Hello all,
I have a Electrolux Front Loader EIFLW50LIW. It's about 2 years old and I have been trying to ask Electrolux and the place I got it if there
is any way to increase the water wash level. I've seen on you tube others adjusting their machines (different models of course). And it seems to work fine for
them. I'm tired of adding water to the wash, there has got to be a way to adjust it. Any one know what I can do?

Thank you.  :)

how much water are you getting should be about 1.5 to 2in in bottom of basket at back in a perma press load.  they dont need a lot of water.

If i do get that much the clothes suck it all up and there is absolutely no water in the tub at all. Plus my machine does not have a permanent press cycle.
I have augured with Electrolux about it and they dont seem to want to do anything about it.

Why do you think the machine needs more water?

I haven't changed the pressure switch, I thought maybe it could be adjusted to fill more. I think the machine needs more water
since the laundry isnt getting as clean as it should. I heard the water line should be to the lip of the tub. It doesnt even get that high.

My Amana front load only has a couple of inches in the bottom during the wash. More water doesn't mean cleaner clothes. In the old top loaders the tub had lots of water, but it was just a fluid medium to allow the clothes to roll over so they could all have an opportunity to be rubbed by the fins and each other. Clothes need three things to be washed. A chemical action-detergent,A thermal action- warm or hot water, and a mechanical action- in this case the tumbling action of the drum which allows the clothes to rub each other. You just need enough water to dissolve the detergent and make a sloppy soapy slurry for the clothes.
