LG TROMM - TSG OR PCB??

(1/2) > >>

wparkjr:
I have a customer with an LG Tromm steam washer model#WM2688HNM.  The steam is not working.  The heating element ohms out good and power is supplied to it in test mode for 1 second like it should but it is never energized during the actual steam cycle.  The thermistor also checks out.  I haven't been able to find out what voltage is applied through the water level switch or if it should be opened or closed with water in it.  So I'm not sure if I need to replace the TSG or the PCB.  What I would like to learn is how to check this switch (or if that's even what it is), or mainly a how to distinguish a failed TSG vs PCB.

A few manuals...

Service Manual

Training Manual

nolazach:
warranty work?  do them both.

Most likely a failed TSG if everything else is working though.  I would think.

domain:
What is TSG?

nolazach:
The turbo steam generator/heating element.
