this retainer on the back of the bellow has given me and other of my freinds hell to reinstall. IT TAKES AN ACT OF CONGRESS AND A COPUPLE OF MULES TO GET IT BACK ON. Now I have seen illustrations where some sort of black tubing is used and also some plastic plyers to hold it in the grove while you stretch it but man i cannot see exactlly how this pieces are inserted between retainer and the tub to hold retainer in place. My son and i did one once and believe me it was very hard. I know there are two tubes that you are suppose to stick in there one on each side but I just cannot keep them in to hold the retainer while i pull hff and puff to get the retainer in. My fried the Especialist loaned me two pieces of rubber tubing about 3 inches long so retainer could be inserted in it ,one on each side and this tubes would slide easy as you stretched it and inserted it, I have not tried it yet but i have been doing some research and trying to see if there is an easier way, so if anybody have an idea I would really appreciated it if you could reply to this destress call. thanks guys and gals

I started a similar topic not long ago about that spring retainer. Someone said to just stretch it a little bit so it can be a little "looser". Makes it wayyy easier.

domain I took the front weight off enable to fit bellow then i put weight back and i notice that the retainer had been stretched some ,anyway i finally got it on but but then I notice that the bearings are loud and unit will not spin, man i took it for granted that the customer told me the bellow was torn ,which it was in three places so i replaced it nothing else said from customer now he is $275 out in the trash. I lhad already been paid so I am okay but I really do feel for the hombre. I will wait and when he gets home from work down the street he will be calling me because I left him a note. Aint no telling what he is going to call me?? Its his fault anywayI think he bought or found this front loader some where because it was not even hooked up and in a little back room. thanks anyway

I inspect bearings on ALL front loaders. If the bellow/gasket is torn/worn, I inspect why. Bad enough bearings can cause enough sag to drag that gasket. Oh well.

Domain the unit was not hooked up I did turn tub by hand ,did not notice any thing out of the abnormality, next is that a tub to be that bad on them bearings and sagging that much even a blind man would have notice it. Three torn places pointed out by the customer one on bottom one by the latch and one on top. The man brought the car in to have a flat fixed not for me to look under the hood Domain LMAO woo you have a good nite my friend there will be better days
