slow spin counter clockwise

the unit has a very slow counter clockwise spin. the pully on the bottom is just a little bit loose i think this is normal. so the unit works good but it doesnt get the water out of the clothes.(slow spin) drains water good.is this a motor or a timer issue? and as always thank you very very very much for your help.

Could be the motor /inverter assembly or possibly the mode shifter hub under the tub. GE apparently has issues with this machine.  Only by using the mini-manual inside the machine would a technician (or you) be able to tell which it was. We can't walk you thru something like this since we are not there to check voltages, etc. This info should be inside the console or taped to the inner cabinet somewhere.

I will say that from other forums topics I have read, this machine has trouble with the motor/inverter more often than anything else. Changing the belt is also more strenuous than on previous GE toploaders.

OK when u say the motor inverter asy , thats basically the motor right??? If so I will go ahead and purchase a motor tks  JPG

The inverter is part of the motor assembly. Unless you are prepared to buy other parts, you may want to confirm that this is the problem. I don't have a tech sheet on this model to offer you, but I'll bet there's one somewhere on the machine.

It looks like it was the motor which was causing the slow spin. The pulley and belt was a little awkward but basically just llike all other pulleys put the belt on the motor shaft 1st and slowly rotate around bigger pulley.  tks for your help   JPG
