GE/ Dryer will not stay spinning and heat stays on.

GE; DX2300EG2WW electric print needed.
I need to see if this unit has a belt switch. It also seems that the heat stays on as well without the blower. Blower motor will start with start switch but falls out after release, heat stays on.

It does have a belt switch. If heat stays on with motor not running, either one of the heat coils is grounded or the motor switch is faulty. Here's the tech sheet.

:thanks: that file did the trick, found out later the owner REMOVED THE DAMN PRINT from the unit control panel... Go figure... Yep, has belt switch I also needed to weld up the heat coil support brackets x2 as they were cracked and laid over providing an uncontrolled system ground. also needed to rebuild the front bearing with new glides. So in the end, saved this customer half the cost of new heat coil assy with 20min work and mig welder. thanks again

Nah, live around the block from this customer. Though with the "Inverter" tech they are now building welders with, the unit is no bigger then the outside dia. and twice as thick as your brief case. Yes, in both 120 &240, some have both... And with the correct unit, you have 220 Amps of working power. Which means there is NOTHING one cannot weld in the field. Some of these units are about Half the size of brief case and are tig or stick. add a spoolgun and you can mig in the field. My cost on that heat assy was 62.00 welded it up for 80.00 saved customer 60-70 bucks their happy-happy less then 20min for repair. Win win for every one here, oh, no return trip to parts supply.......Saved that fuel & wear on truck. Google usaweld.com thats one brand, Miller another but their price makes it out of reach just to get one for the truck, and or around the shop.

what did you weld?  Did you weld the element back together?  I don't think that will last long term.

Also almost every unit has a much cheaper option for elements.  I keep a few universal restring kits too.

No, misunderstanding here....
The brackets that hold the porcelain insulator for the heat element. Yes I know, restring kits used them before.... Some kits last longer then others as well I have found over time. yes, cheaper BUT, since the ONLY supply house is about an hour &  ten min away one way it got welded. Myself just don't get enough appliance repair calls to stock parts for this stuff, Too busy with the stock for restaurant equipment repair, just do appliance for commercial customers, not the public at large.
