I measure ~1K across the terminals with it removed from the circuit.

If this is bad, how does that relate to the drying problem?

It needs to open to let the steam out silly.

lol..I know that.

But I still appear to have a problem. Are you saying that if the vent doesn't open, the moisture will not be exhausted out and thus will condense on the dishes giving he appearance that they are not dry? But steam does not come out of the door when I open it during the drying cycle.

Just so I am on the same page with the wax motor, it appears to be a plunger which is normally retracted and should push out when power is applied, correct?

Yes that is the thought. That needs to be proper. You may have an additional problem

If the relay actuated in testing, I would fix the vent if it's faulty

Ok, I finally think I have everything fixed.

Here is the run down:

1. The wax motor was not bad. I did not understand what a wax motor is and how it works.
2. I finally decided to pull the heating element out of the dishwasher. Once done, I promptly found that it was open. Not sure why I did not get the reading the first time I checked it.
3. Element + control board installed...dishwasher working.
4. Few days later it stops completely.
5. TCO was blown.
6. Ordered and install the replacement.
7. Everything back to working.

Last question, why does the replacement TCO have new wires that replace the original ones? The connectors on the original wires fit the new TCO terminals.

Thank you again for everyone's help.
