I hope someone can help me with a problem I am having with my model # mer6770aab. The control board completely died and I replaced it with a new board (maytag part #16021467). Everything went ok on the install except for the fact that the upper oven will not shut off- it runs all the time. I wired it exactly as shown on the sheet that came with the part (below)
Since we could not do without a stove until I figured this out, I moved one end of the jumper wire (black) from the far left port it plugs into (between the orange and tan wire ports) per the instructions (which I believe grounds the upper oven) to the port that I labeled "alternative position for jumper)on the below sheet. I figured that grounding the jumper twice would not hurt anything. Turns out I was right- everything works fine except the upper oven is now dead (since I removed the ground- I guess). When I return that ground wire to the port that is shown on the drawing the upper oven starts and will not shut off.
Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong? The only thing I can think of is the connections at the very bottom of the board might be wrong- I have the white wire plugged into the far left port (I think its labeled "n" )and the black wires are plugged into the port on the far right- nothing is connected to the center port.
Any help is much appreciated!
