Microwave woes.. GE PEB1590sm1ss
« on: December 15, 2013, 08:31:57 PM »
Have a GE MW I am working on.  Normally I do not work on Counter Microwaves.
So I get this unit and take it to the shop.  It comes on and runs, but no power goes to the transformer.  So it's a low voltage issue.

Door switches are all good.

I put a brand new PCB in there thinking that would do it.  Well it didn't.
So now I have to figure out this issue or return the unit and the deposit and attempt to return my part that I already installed.

I just don't get why there isn't power going to the transformer.  All thermals are good, and the timer counts down, no error messages.

Just no voltage to the transformer when there should be.

But the convection features on it work fine.

Could I have a DOA control board?

Check for a voltage drop across the door switch and relay while running.  A switch can test good with a meter and then open up with a load.  Can you post a picture of the schematic?

I'll check that out, let me scan the schematic and I'll post it.

Yep, this is my issue.

My switch is good at the terminals, but not good once plugged in.  Strange.  Going over the wiring now.

Hi,

Did you try to bypass bypass the vent thermal cutoff? I had a JNM1951. Everything works fine but heating. When I bypass the vent thermal cut off, then it heats. Of course, the vent will be always on. Sounds weird, but it happened.
