I can't find this model number on line so maybe I copied it wrong. But this is a fairly simple entry level 30" Maytag Range with electric ignition.
There is no photo or heat sensor apart from the ignitor. I'm familiar with furnaces that use the ignitor as the heat sensor following the ignition cycle. Wondering it that is likely theory of ops here.
The symptoms are that the oven lights sometimes and not others and takes a while to light in any event.
Electric contacts at solenoid valve mounted on the bottom of the broiler with the orifice screwed to it and burner tube issuing forth look OK. I'm wondering if the oven control looks for amperage flowing through the ignitor circuit for a certain period before sending signal to open gas vale and if the ignitor then converts to sensor as i've seen in heating applications or . . .
I will try to confirm the model number, but this is a pretty vanilla stove. I can take a picture of the ignitor and post if that will be helpful and if i have the privilege to post pictures and what not, or if anyone can point toward a typical maytag parts diagram i can confirm that it corresponds to the range i have apart.
