GE TFX24ZR Refrigerator - where's the water filter located?!

We have a GE side-by-side refrigerator that came with the house and no manual for reference. Where is the water filter located in this model? We estimate its age to be about 10 years. We've looked at the back, above the top shelf, where most models have the filter and also looked behind the grill near the floor. Any help would be appreciated!
