Samsung RF220NCTASR has me stumped
« on: December 07, 2013, 10:38:26 AM »
Does anyone have a service manual? Customer unit was bought out by Samsung due to impossibility of getting service here in the Catskills. I'm a high-end specialist but was intrigued by the challenge. Freezer worked, but no cold air getting to the fresh food compartment. Replaced damper, freezer evap fan and main board. Suspecting defective new part but really would like to see if I have to somehow size/program the replacement board. Good news is that the sealed system is okay, but this has me stumped. Oh, by the way, just before I changed the board, the touch panel was nicely responsive; changing the board just got the lowest fridge temp bar lit with nothing else working. I put the original board back in and the same thing occurred! Putting the new board back in, I left. After some time I contacted the customer who said that now lowest and highest fridge temp indicators were flashing....

That would def seem to be a board fault but you changed those. Never had to program a Samsung board when installed. Possible defective wiring in the cabinet? You said you changed it but was / is the damper opening and closing? Seems like you did but to be clear did you change the display pcb in the top cover? The flashing indicates an error code but I don't know what the code is. Wish I could help you with the manual. Check the literature that came with the unit. Especially the service sheets.

Bit the bullet and just received the Service Manual. I'll let everyone know how it turns out. BTW, I just skimmed it a bit and now realize that there is some 'intelligence' in the control panel; it's not a numeric display in this model, just some push pads and LED's. Stay Tuned....
