Whirlpool range RF1121PXSQ oven dead.
« on: November 25, 2013, 01:57:30 PM »
Looking for a service manual or troubleshooting help for this range. Cooktop works fine. Bake and broil are dead. Checked both bake and broil elements and they are good. Checked temp sensor probe and it is good, 1090 ohms at ambient. Suspect failed ERC but since it lists for $146.00 at my local parts house I want to be sure that will fix the problem before I order it. I did not see any thermal fuses on the back wall. And assistance in solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

Most of them stoves have one hot leg to each element then out the element to the ERC (electronic range control) If you aint got broke wire somewhere or a bad connection at the ERC I would say it is bad, both at the same time is weird.

I can't find that model.  Sounds like a thermal cutoff if it has one.  It could be the DLB relay on the control board.  To check the relay, check for voltage across the terminals while calling for heat.  If you get 240vac, the relay is bad.  I've had good luck replacing the DLB relay to save money. Check your model and repost it or post a picture of the schematic.
