Maytag Washer F01 Error Code

Model #MHWZ600TW01, this unit would display an F01 error immediately after the start button was pressed. This error is an EEPROM communication failure of the electronic control board and is an internal failure that basically indicates the washer no longer thinks it's a washer. Since the repair requires the board to be replaced, I installed a new control board and now it has started washing again. A word of caution. Whirlpool has been making a lot of changes to the control boards of their front load washers (yes Maytag too) so make sure you are ordering the correct model using the full model number including the last two digits. If you install the wrong board, you may find yourself trying to fix a self induced problem.
