Sears Basic Electric Test
« on: November 19, 2013, 09:55:01 AM »
Sears called and wants to interview me and give me the basic electric test. Now I must admit that I am pretty much self-taught in everything that I know and I'm doubting I can go in and pass this test without some kind of study material.

I'm not asking anyone to give me questions that are on the test but, can you tell me how difficult it is and, if there is anything out there I can study to prepare for it.

Thanks in advance.

I moved this to the private tech section of our forum. I know we have a number of techs that either currently work for Sears or have worked for Sears. They may be a little more willing to speak up and post a replay with this topic being private now.

I would be interested in knowing what kind of questions are on the test. Even better would be to get a copy of the actual test for all of us to see.

Thanks AJ! I have to be honest when I say that I did an internet search to try to find a copy or at least some study material however, I came up with nothing.

They mentioned, "Basic Household Electric," but that really tells me nothing as far as how indepth they will go. She also mentioned an Appliance Test. Once again, that really doesn't tell me much.

I would think they want to know if you can use a meter, read a diagram and such. Basic electricity.

There are guys working on our crew that didn't pass the tests. But because they worked in sales, they hired them on the spot...
