I have an old ( 20 Years and still going  :) ) Maytag top load washer LAT9395ABW, and I am trying to squeeze  some more life out of it.
The only probelm is it recently started leaking and I've traced the leak to what looks like a junction (plastic part) between two rubber hoses. (please see picture )
I am not sure what this part is and if it has any other function than joining the two water feed hoses ? If it is only meant to join the hoses, I can probably
do some cheap workaround....
I would greatly appreciate some advice !

It's an airgap to prevent tub water from siphoning into your house plumbing.  You need the injector sleeve, 213016. That fixes it 99% of the time for me. If you want to be sure it's fixed, order the injector kit, 12001677.
