Maytag PGR5710BDQ Gas Range, Flashing lock light when bake or broil is pressed

When Bake or Broil is pressed, a flashing lock light is indicated.  Will not start bake cycle.
No F codes displayed.


If you try the self clean cycle, an F9 code appears after about 30-50secs....

Am I correct in guessing it is the ECR??

More than likely a failure of the door latch assembly. One of the interlock switches is not satisfied, causing the flashing response from the ERC. The F-9 further solidifies the latch as the source of the problem. Frequent self-cleaning is contributed as a cause of this failure.

You're looking for a 12001942 latch assembly...apparently hard to find these days. H-m-m-m

Is there any easy way to confirm the lock??? Is it adjustable, or will it just need to be replaced??

Sir, I am confirming it for you, as a former senior field service associate for Maytag Corporation. No, there's no adjustment. 3 screws and you're done.
