Oven will pre heat

I have a ge electric oven model# jbp24dom1ww that will not pre heat unless I have it set for 500 degrees or higher. Anything under that it just beeps as if the oven is at the correct temp.

Are you saying that you don't get any heat out of the oven unless you set it to 500 degrees?

Probably the thermistor. The 'cheat sheet' should be either inside the control panel area or between the bottom of the oven and the top of the drawer. That will tell you what the resistance should be.
