Dryer won't run in cool down
« on: October 28, 2013, 11:38:41 AM »
It is a Whirlpool dryer model WED5200VQ1. It will not run or can not be started when it is in the cool down area of a cycle on the dial or in air fluff. have it in the timed heat cycle it runs until it gets to the cool down area then it shuts down and if you push the start button nothing happens, you put it in the air fluff cycle and push the start again nothing. It is about to drive me up a wall. Could someone please clue me in on what is wrong. Thanks

Broken knob and you think you is in cooldown but you really at the end. Seen it. Knob slightly off cracked.

Checked the knob and it isn't cracked. It will not work any where you put it in the air fluff cycle either.

Timer autopsy:

Since your timer still heats their might just be a burr on the contact that does the cooldown. You may be able to file down the points and restore that puppy. OR ya may just be pissin in the wind. It is worth a try.  O0
