<<<The machine is working fine, but now I am getting a whistling sound when I used to get that snoring sound.>>>

**********

The SUMP ASSY that you received was built during 2010 or 2011.

During this manufacturing period---a different CHOPPER was used (rather than continuing to use the original).

The reason for the re-designed CHOPPER remains a mystery (for me anyway).

The CHOPPER that is in your Sump Assy is part number (5832DD4001A)---and has sharp points/tips on the ends (like an indian arrowhead). This pointed edge---is the cause of the whistling/rumbling noise.

This has been replaced with the new part number (5832DD4001B).

If you still have the original Sump Assy---that one can be used as well.

To replace:

Remove the upper and lower rack assys.

Lift off (unsnap) the lower wash arm.

Remove the water tower (upper wash arm) from the rear/center of the dishwasher.

Remove all of the Phillips screws from the Sump Filter Cover---and lift off the filter.

Pull off the round white-color "valve" (make sure that the o-ring in still in place).

Remove the phillips screw from the center impeller (this is a *reverse-thread* screw) and pull off the impeller.

Lift the gray plastic chamber from the center of the Sump---and you'll see the stainless steel CHOPPER---replace it.

Re-install the Sump Assy components.

Test dishwasher while inspecting/checking for leaks.

Thank you so much, John63.
Yes I have the chopper from the old sump assembly.
This is what it looks like (picture attached).
Before I switch the choppers, please tell me if this one will be OK.
I really appreciate all your help.

I removed the new chopper from the new sump assembly (picture attached).
I saw that it has a sharp edge while the old one did not.
I installed the old chopper ( side marked up facing up).
Amazing, the whistle is completely gone and the dishwasher seems quieter at all times.
I am very happy with this repair now.
Thanks so much for all the help, John63.
I hope this also helps someone else.
