What's the amp draw of the ignitors?

I DIDNT check that      but could both ignitors be weak?   cheked out at 190 ohms        and timer board is putting out 127 volts to either broil or bake circuit...do those elec valves go bad or are they pretty bullet proof?what is correct draw amps for ignitors?

also the whole circuit       ignitor in series with valve   measures about 500 ohms  on both broil and bake

I've replaced both the bake and broil ignitors on an oven before.  I doubt they both went bad at the same time. The only way to test an ignitor is amperage.  Flat ignitors should be at least 3.2 amps, round ones should be at least 2.8.

You are getting 120 volts to the igniters?

Check that.

If yes, then check the amperage of the igniters.  If you don't have a clamp on amp tester, you will need to cut and strip an igniter wire and place your multimeter inline on the circuit.  Make sure it is set up correctly and set to 10Amps.

You should read 3 amps after 40 seconds.  Many will turn on at 2.8 though oddly enough (which is why I stick to the universal igniter theory; there are only two types of igniters needed)  If you are getting 3.1 amps or above then you know you have good igniters.

Though it sounds like a no-glow situation.

With the extremely cheap price of the GE WB2x998 igniter I would in this situation just swap one to see.  If you ave 120v, and a good igniter, then for sure the problem is a bad safety valve or an obstruction in the gas line.  I have seen obstructions in the line more than I have seen failed gas valves.  (just because so many ovens in our area are flood salvaged)

Also you can't light a gas/electric control stove with a match.  That only works on pilot light models.  without 3 amos going through the safety valve the gas will never come on.

ok    that was it,ignitor       even thou it glowed bright and was about 200 ohms  it only drew      2.1 amps    new one drew 3.0  but that was enough to open valve      thanks guys,,,u thiunk they would put amp draw on schematic  or voltages

amp draw is 3 for square and 2.8 for round. One of those things we just have to keep in our heads.  it's pretty much universal.
