The normal sequence of operation is that directly after agitation, the washer should drain without spinning (gearcase is in neutral). It should drain for about 2 minutes and then the motor must pause for a few seconds to release neutral drain. When motor starts again, spin should begin. If the motor does not pause, the timer is faulty and opening/closing the lid pauses the motor and allows spin to work. If the motor does pause after drain, but still will not start spinning when it starts again, you need to remove the cabinet, bypass the lid switch and observe the clutch hub right after the motor starts after pausing. If the clutch hub is not spinning, there is a problem with the gearcase (neutral drain). If the clutch hub is spinning but basket not spinning, the problem could be the clutch, brakes, basket drive or drive block.
