Kenmore 110 28002011 will not finish cycle
« on: October 05, 2013, 09:18:03 AM »
Has anyone come up with some new thoughts on this issue below that was posted April 2012 , I am experiencing the same problems with my 110 28002011. Like Redrock all the components that make it fill, drain, spin, and wash are working but it doesnít finish a cycle. Sometimes it will stop and release the door lock, other times it will pause for more than 30 min then start again. It seems that it is confused but after unplugging it seems to be ok through half a cycle. I havenít checked the codes yet, not sure really how to.
The washer times out in drain cycle. Spin light on & door lock off means long drain or long fill?
Fault code shows    F9 &  E1  which means drain problem. The machine seems to drain all of the water, but can not leave the drain cycle. Unplugging the power for 10 minutes allows any cycle to begin, but the first normal drain cycle will cause long drain time out. To do laundry in NORMAL cycle for example will have the wash water drain, but can not go to rinse. unplug power for 10 minutes and then go to RINSE/DRAIN. Unplug power for another 10 minutes and go to DRAIN/SPIN
and the wash is done. My wife wants a new washer or husband, which ever can do laundry.

This is a vertical modular washer. You will need to use the L-84 service manual to help you retrieve the codes. Or use the tech sheet off of the washer. Its on the inside of the front panel in a zip lock bag.

Tilt the machine back, pull the pump and check for obstruction in the pump or drain hoses.

The washer drains but once the spin cycle ramps up the spinning stops. The washer will go through the spin cycle if there arenít any cloths in the washer. Retrieved codes   F7 E1, F0 E2, F7 E5 and F0 E0. Tried to run Manual Test Mode but it seems that no matter which output I chose the washer wants to fill with hot water. Is this normal?

Thanks for all the replies, after all my research my plan is to disconnect and then reconnect the wires to the shifter/actuator at both ends then do a test run. If that doesn't work then I will buy a shifter/actuator (Plan B).

TA DA plan B was needed and all is well with my washer.
