I delivered a GE dryer today and when I took the cover off to install the cord I discovered a 30 amp fuse. This was the first time I seen this so I was curious enough to take a look at the wiring diagram. I found this fuse was on the line that the motor connects to so if it blows the dryer will not run.
I am not sure how long they have been putting this fuse on these dryers because most of the laundry we have been selling was from a huge inventory of washers and dryers be got from GE when they had a big sale in 2010 but it was the first time Iíve seen it.
Just keep it in mind if you have a fairly new GE dryer not running. Next to the cord block would be the last place I would look for a fuse if I hadnít seen this one.
