Kenmore Dryer no Heat
« on: June 12, 2008, 10:24:48 PM »

Model #110.96093800, the unit was running when I arrived and sure enough, no heat at all. Fortunately for me, this dryer had an access panel in the front making troubleshooting quick and easy. With meter in hand, I began doing continuity checks of the heater circuit components, and found the thermal cut-off had failed. Knowing the main cause of this failure to be a restricted vent, I also did a quick check for the customer to verify air was indeed making it's way to the outside and proceeded to install a new thermal cut-off to get his dryer working again. If your dryer stops heating and the problem is from an open safety thermostat, always verify your vent is clear of obstructions or you may be replacing something else very soon.
