Washer spin cycle not always completing
« on: September 12, 2013, 03:35:41 PM »
I have the Neptune washer (MAH4000AWW).  I replaced the bearings in early 2010.  I noticed at the time that I have the "good" wax motor.

The issue I am having now is that sometimes (not always) the washer will stop mid cycle.  It doesn't always do it at the same place.  Sometimes just before the spin cycle starts, sometimes just after one of the spin cycles, sometimes after several spin cycles.  If I hit the start button, things will start again.  But, sometimes (not always) it will stop again after the next spin cycle or two.

Not sure where to look or what to consider.  It doesn't have any real rhyme or reason to it.  I have tried larger than normal loads, smaller than normal loads, hot water, cold water...and no changes.  Sometimes works great...others not so much.

Thoughts?

I realize it has been a while...we have been limping along ok.  Could never figure out what was going on.  Would work some days and not work others.  I checked the main control board and the #11 is just fine.

I finally broke down and bought a new belt.  I figured maybe 15-years on a belt may be the issue.  No dice.  The final step was to run the unit for 1-minute to seat the belt.  That's when I noticed the motor just humming and not turning at all.  Well, looks like a new motor and motor control board are now in order.

I am back to debating just getting a new washer...  I just worry that it won't last more than 5-years.

UGH!!!
